3 Questions To Ask Your Veterinarian

3 Questions To Ask Your Veterinarian

When your cat or dog does not feel good, what do you do? Depending on the severity of the situation, many people head to a local veterinarian or animal clinic to treat their four-legged family members. Often, knowing where to go from there can be confusing.

After taking your cat or dog to an animal hospital NW Houston, you might have a lot of questions for the vet but you may not know where to start. If so, you are not alone. Check out this list to help you think of your own about your pet.

1. Is That [Insert Behavior] Normal?

When you are talking to the vet, try to think carefully about your pet. How does he or she act at home? If there are any concerning behaviors that come to mind, tell the vet about them. Be sure to ask for his or her opinion on whether the behavior is normal or something that you need to address.

2. Is My Pet Current on Vaccinations?

Even if you do not go to the vet to talk about animal vaccines, a major part of pet health is maintaining your animal’s shots. This is especially true if any of your cats or dogs spend time outside where there are many more threats to their health. Generally, most pet vaccines are relatively cheap.

3. What Is This Lump or Bump?

As animals age, so do their bodies. If you have noticed an unusual lump or bump on one of your pets, this is another great question for the vet. Sometimes, these symptoms can signal the growth of a tumor that you will want to take care of as soon as possible. Other times, they are less serious.

At the end of the day, the best questions to ask your vet depend upon your pet. Let this list be your guide.
